THE POSITION

This position supports the appeals process by reviewing cases, preparing legal documents, and helping ensure that hearings are properly scheduled and completed. As a Legal Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Appeal Review:
Evaluate appeals for compliance with procedural regulations and identify needed actions - Scheduling Support:
Prepare, update, and distribute hearing schedules and related notices - Document Preparation:
Draft and process legal documents such as orders, subpoenas, and adjudications - Record Management:
Maintain electronic and physical files for appeals and hearings - Communication Tasks:
Respond to inquiries while protecting confidential information and preventing improper communication
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time upon successful completion of your probationary and training period. Work assignments will primarily take place in the office. To telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you may report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility:
- Three years of responsible clerical, enforcement or investigative work; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
