Legal Administrative Assistant (Remote)
Location:
Katy, TX (Fully Remote)
Pay: $18-$25/hour DOE
Schedule:
40 hours/week, Monday-Friday

Our client, a boutique criminal defense law firm, is seeking a proactive and dependable Legal Administrative Assistant to support two busy attorneys in a fully remote role. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable legal experience while enjoying the flexibility of working from home.

- Serve as the first point of contact for clients by managing incoming phone calls, emails, and general inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
- Schedule appointments, consultations, meetings, court dates, and deadlines while maintaining organized attorney calendars.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain legal documents, correspondence, and client files within electronic systems.
- Draft and distribute professional correspondence and other administrative communications.
- Assist with electronic court filings and legal document management.
- Participate in Zoom meetings with clients and attorneys as needed.
- Take detailed notes during meetings and ensure accurate documentation.
- Update and maintain information within the firm’s case management system.
- Prior experience in a legal administrative, legal assistant, executive assistant, or professional office support role.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, stay focused, and manage priorities in a remote work environment.
- A self-starter who is dependable, accountable, and takes ownership of their responsibilities.
- Comfortable learning new technology and working within electronic document management systems.
- Experience with legal case management software is preferred; experience with MyCase is a plus.
- Professional, client-focused demeanor with a positive attitude.
- Reliable computer with camera and microphone for virtual meetings and phone system access.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with electronic file management.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Previous legal office experience is preferred but not required for candidates with strong administrative support experience.
