Clerical Assistant 2 Position
The Clerical Assistant 2 position with the Department of Environmental Protection SE Regional Office offers a great chance to support the Clean Water, Safe Drinking Water and Waterways and Wetlands programs. This role helps keep important public health efforts moving by supporting permit work, reports, and communication tasks. Each day brings a steady flow of activities that build strong office and organizational skills.

This position supports the Safe Drinking Water program by organizing information, assisting with permit work, and helping staff maintain accurate and up to date records. The role includes handling reports, mail, notices, and public communication for the program. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Permit Application Tasks: Process electronic permit submissions, log applications, enter data in eFACTS, and track related information
- Public Notice Preparation: Compile and transmit information for Pennsylvania Bulletin notices and prepare required DRBC documentation
- Record Organization: Maintain program files, prepare documents for digital imaging, and verify data accuracy in program systems
- Report Handling: Process and distribute reports and support preparation of related program materials
- Communication Support: Answer phones, direct calls, assist the public, and route environmental complaints to appropriate staff
- Clerical Operations: Type letters and reports, manage mail distribution, maintain supplies, and keep the program desk manual updated

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes). - You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
