The Position
As a Clerical Assistant 2 with the Department of Environmental Protection's Southcentral Regional Office, you will support a team dedicated to safeguarding natural resources. DescriptionOf Work
This position supports the Waterways and Wetlands Program by completing detailed clerical work that keeps information organized and helps the Program meet its responsibilities. The role involves processing applications, managing records, and supporting communication with the public and staff. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Data Entry Support: Enter information into electronic data systems accurately and use available tools to reduce errors and duplications
- Permit Processing: Log applications, create records in databases, process fees, prepare letters, proofread documents, and complete related tasks throughout the permitting process
- Document Management: Upload digital and paper files into the OnBase system, prepare scan sheets, and maintain organized program files
- Public Interaction: Receive calls, greet visitors, provide non technical assistance, and handle complaint calls following established procedures
- Clerical Assistance: Type letters and forms, check materials for accuracy, and process incoming and outgoing mail for the Program
- Office Coordination: Maintain region wide documents, support other programs when assigned, and keep an updated desk manual

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes). - You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Qualifications Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
