Description

Executive Assistant – Public Health provides advanced administrative support for the Executive Director of Public Health. Responsibilities include independent calendar management, high‑level communications, research, project coordination, liaison with internal departments and external stakeholders, and judgment in prioritizing work and handling sensitive information.

Schedule

Full‑time position operating on a 4‑day work week (Monday–Thursday, 4‑10 hour days). A hybrid schedule is expected with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, depending on business needs.

Compensation

Hiring Range: $78,000.00 – $89,000.00 USD Annual. Compensation is determined based on education, experience, and skills.

Essential Duties
  • Manage complex executive priorities and calendars, prioritizing requests, anticipating conflicts, and responding on behalf of the executive.
  • Coordinate high‑level meetings, including agenda development, packet preparation, and accurate minute taking.
  • Research, compile, and analyze information from multiple sources to prepare reports, briefings, and recommendations for executive decisions.
  • Draft, edit, and finalize complex correspondence, policies, presentations, and official communications, ensuring clarity, tone, and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Serve as a central liaison between the executive’s office and county departments, elected officials, partner agencies, and the public, facilitating communication and resolving issues.
  • Monitor key projects, initiatives, and deadlines, providing status updates and reminders, and identifying potential delays.
  • Handle sensitive, confidential, and politically sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality across all communication tools.
  • Develop and implement solutions to enhance effectiveness and efficiency within the Executive Director’s office.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, public records requirements, and organizational policies; support audits and reporting.
  • Coordinate travel, conferences, and official events, including itineraries, logistics, protocol considerations, and cost tracking.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:

    High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience:

    Five (5) years of work‑related experience.
  • Certifications/Licenses: N/A.
  • Note:

    An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Preferred Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Preferred experience in administrative support within an executive office.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Software.
  • Experience with Workday.
  • Experience with Canva or other design software/programs.
Additional Job Information
  • Criminal History and MVR Background Checks are required for every position.
  • Offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of background checks, education verification, and references.
  • A valid Colorado driver’s license is required for positions that drive on County Business.
