Position SummaryHybrid:
This role may include a partially remote work arrangement in accordance with System Office policy. The University Program Associate supports the communications, programming, and research efforts of the Office of Faculty Governance, the Faculty Council, and faculty committees. The position provides organizational, logistical, and operational support for the Office’s programs.
- Schedule and coordinate faculty council and committee meetings, including reserving meeting spaces, sending notices, compiling agendas, and recording minutes.
- Maintain and update web pages, SharePoint sites, and the Office’s website, including the online meeting calendar.
- Develop and analyze Excel spreadsheets and other data tools to support committee work and reporting.
- Proofread, copy‑edit, and publish written materials such as newsletters, award nomination packets, and mandatory communications.
- Assist with research and citation editing for award nominations and mandatory documentation.
- Coordinate logistics for faculty events, including setup and teardown of meeting spaces and tables.
- Manage records and maintain committee rosters within the Office’s record‑keeping system.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience; all degrees must come from accredited institutions.
Management Preferences- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Strong writing and editing skills, including experience taking meeting minutes and creating newsletters.
- Experience managing web content, preferably with Word Press.
- Demonstrated ability to schedule, manage, and track meetings.
- Prior experience working in higher education, ideally at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Ability to climb stairs in a building without an elevator, and to carry and rearrange supplies and furniture for meetings and events.
Position / Schedule RequirementsFull‑time, permanent; 40 hours per week;
Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Unscheduled evening work may be required occasionally.
Location:
Chapel Hill, North Carolina (North Carolina, US). Salary range: $35,589 – $57,637 (NC09 / GN07).
