THE POSITION
Join the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources as an Administrative Officer 1 and contribute to the smooth operation of essential programs. This role will allow you to support statewide facility, fleet, and asset management efforts. Your organizational strengths will help staff across the agency work more effectively. DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
In this position, you will manage administrative functions that support vehicles, facilities, and assets throughout the Department. Your work will strengthen agency operations by coordinating programs, analyzing needs, and supporting staff. As an Administrative Officer 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Fleet Management:
Coordinate vehicle assignments, oversee repairs, review usage, and prepare replacement documentation. - Facility Support:
Manage building access, workspace needs, and coordination with contracted service providers. - Asset Oversight:
Maintain asset records, assign identification tags, and support purchases and surplus activities. - Insurance Coordination:
Handle insurance claims, review documentation, and work with risk management personnel. - Supervisory Duties:
Direct Administrative Assistants and clerical staff and provide guidance for daily tasks. - Program Analysis:
Review operations, prepare reports, and recommend improvements to administrative procedures.
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch.
- Telework:
You may work from home part‑time, 1 day per week, subject to mandatory technical requirements and must report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg if unable to telework. The ability to telework may change at any time. - Salary:
In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable.
- Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work and a bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and training. - Other Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a current and active driver’s license that is not under suspension.
- You must meet the Pennsylvania residency requirement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
