Position Specifics

Penn State Conferences and Institutes, a department within Penn State Outreach, is seeking to hire an Education Program Coordinator to provide support and assistance in the development and delivery of a variety of credit and noncredit educational programs geared toward youth, Penn State students, and adults. Program Coordinators work collaboratively with Program Managers and faculty or chairpersons throughout the planning and delivery of a diverse range of programs, each having its own unique objectives and needs.

While working as part of a team, Program Coordinators oversee a portfolio of 20–25 programs annually.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support and assistance in the development and delivery of educational programs.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers and faculty or chairpersons in planning and delivering programs.
  • Oversee a portfolio of 20–25 programs each year.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining excellent communication and organization.
  • Maintain flexibility for conference delivery, including occasional weekend and evening work.
Minimum Education , Work Experience & Required Certifications

General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School diploma, 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. No required certifications.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated skills in project or program coordination.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, attention to detail, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Forward‑thinking, open‑minded, flexible, and eager to learn new programs, procedures, and systems.
  • Experience with LionPATH, File Maker, 25

    Live, SIMBA, and Destiny is desired but not required.
Background Checks/Clearances

This position requires PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check, in addition to all applicable background checks.

Salary & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $38,300.00 – $55,500.00.
