About Our Job & Benefits
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Starting hiring range is $22.53 - $27.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience. Location& Schedule
The Denver Clerk & Recorder’s main offices are located at 200 W. 14th Ave., immediately south of the City & County Building. Some staff may work in alternate locations. Office hours are typically 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Depending on position needs, some roles have remote work and flexible schedule options with manager approval.
OrganizationThe Denver Clerk & Recorder, independently elected by the public, performs the legally mandated duties of a clerk and recorder in Colorado. The office encompasses the City Clerk, County Recorder, Public Trustee, and Chief Elections Official functions. The mission is to serve the people of Denver by providing accessible, reliable, and secure civic services and ensuring democratic participation, marital equality, and fair processes.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Provide high‑level administrative and operational support to the City Clerk unit.
- Coordinate and manage records, filings, and correspondence.
- Support public‑facing services, responding to inquiries from residents, elected officials, agencies, and stakeholders.
- Assist with processing official City Clerk filings, disclosures, publications, ordinances, resolutions, contracts, oaths, and related records.
- Maintain accurate records‑management practices in compliance with retention schedules, legal requirements, and departmental procedures.
- Support Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) request tracking, coordination, and responses; monitor unit inboxes, route requests appropriately, and ensure timely follow‑up and customer service.
- Assist with data entry, quality control, auditing, and tracking within various City systems and databases.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, organization, efficiency, and customer service within the division.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience providing administrative or operational support in a government, legal, compliance, records, or public service environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and sensitive information with professionalism and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong customer service abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to improving processes and workflows.
- Knowledge of Colorado Open Records Act (CORA), records retention practices, or municipal government operations is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software and systems quickly.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education:
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, HiSET, or TASC certificate. - Experience:
Three (3) years of full‑performance office support/clerical work (type and level of an Administrative Support Assistant III). - Equivalency:
Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.
