What Your Job Will Be LikeSandia National Laboratories is seeking an Administrative Support Associate to join our Executive Protocol and Strategic Engagements team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting high‑profile distinguished visitors (DVs) and strategic engagements hosted by our Executive Leaders. This role requires initiative and the ability to manage organizational workflow, handle multiple issues concurrently to meet deadlines, collaborate with stakeholders, and champion innovation to support Sandia's goals and objectives.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Serve as the security subject matter expert on policies and processes for all level of DoE and DoD clearances, badging, and accesses required for all activities supported by the Office of Executive Protocol and Strategic Engagements (EPSE).
- Serve as the liaison between the EPSE Office and internal, DoE, and DoD security organizations.
- Responsible for the proper handling and disseminating, and disposal of sensitive personal information.
- Support Protocol Officers with coordinating badging, escorting, catering, and transportation, and more for EPSE supported events, as needed.
- Support the EPSE team in designing processes to enhance workflow.
- Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
$48,500 - $89,000
* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We RequireHigh school diploma plus three (3) or more years of directly related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with the following- Computer‑based applications Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Work with highly personal and sensitive information.
- Interface, in a professional manner, with all levels of staff and management, and high level distinguished visitors and various stakeholders.
- Organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion on multiple tasks, often under strict deadlines, frequent interruptions, and competing priorities.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
- Experience performing imprecisely defined assignments under critical time constraints independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to effectively work and collaborate in a team environment under pressure.
- Ability to interact with all levels of internal and external personnel, including the ability to network and build effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to think outside the box and develop streamlined processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion on multiple tasks.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, politically sensitive environment.
- Experience meeting customer/project needs that result in overtime and/or working flexible hours (including weekends).
- Ability to independently resolve issues and problems while completing a task.
