People and Culture Central Services provides administrative, compliance, records keeping, systems and applications support, and data analytics for all departments across campus.
The Blank Assistant 3 is responsible for the clerical administration of the UC Berkeley Misconduct Disclosure and Release process and its associated record‑keeping requirements, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities- Use specialized office equipment and the background‑check vendor’s software applications to administer the Misconduct Disclosure and Release process.
- Prepare communications and other materials for employees, supervisors, onboarding teams, department management, and faculty requiring specialized knowledge of the subject matter.
- Edit and proofread written materials for content consistency.
- Apply complex spreadsheet formulas, pivot tables, and similar functions.
- Compile and organize spreadsheets using subject‑matter knowledge to ensure data results are consistent with the nature of the data.
- Work on sensitive issues, priorities, protocols, and related matters.
- Collaborate with internal department experts to obtain guidance on procedures, practices, and implementation of complex policies.
- Work with department management and communications to update, review, and revise the department website to better communicate processes and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of administrative procedures and processes including word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, active listening, critical thinking, multi‑tasking, and time‑management skills.
- Interpersonal and work‑leadership skills to provide guidance to other non‑exempt personnel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity.
- High school diploma and/or equivalent experience/training. (Required)
- Must complete training, pass a test, and be certified by the Department of Justice (DoJ) for CJIS system access.
The budgeted hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $31.23 (Step
2) – $32.75 (Step
4).
- This is a non‑exempt, bi‑weekly paid position.
- This is a full‑time (40 hours/week) career position eligible for UC benefits.
- This position is eligible for up to 5 days/week remote work within the United States. Exact arrangements are determined in partnership with your supervisor and are subject to change.
This is a designated position requiring fingerprinting and a background check due to the nature of the job responsibilities. Berkeley does hire people with conviction histories and reviews the information received in the context of the job responsibilities. The University reserves the right to make employment contingent upon successful completion of the background check.
Mandated ReporterThis position has been identified as a Mandated Reporter required to report observed or suspected abuse or neglect of children, dependent adults, or elders to designated law‑enforcement or social‑service agencies. We reserve the right to make employment contingent upon completion of signed statements acknowledging the responsibilities of a Mandated Reporter.
