Part‑time Project Assistant, TRiO Student Support Services
The Project Assistant supports the administration, implementation, and monitoring of the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) grant at Monroe Community College (MCC). Reporting directly to the SSS Program Director, this position provides administrative, data, fiscal, scheduling, and communications support to ensure effective program operations and compliance with grant requirements.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail‑oriented, comfortable with technology, data, and deadlines, and able to manage multiple moving pieces in a student‑centered grant program.

Examples of
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate student records, program files, tracking systems, and grant‑related documentation.
- Enter, monitor, and manage data in Blumen and other program databases to support reporting, compliance, and student follow‑up.
- Assist with Excel spreadsheets, budget tracking, purchasing documentation, forms, reports, and other fiscal or grant‑administrative processes.
- Monitor the TRIO SSS email inbox and serve as a primary point of contact for scheduling applicant interviews, student appointments, meetings, and program activities.
- Support event planning and administration, including room reservations, logistics, calendars, guest speaker communication, coordination with campus offices, and day‑of support.
- Prepare correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, flyers, social media content, and other program materials.
- Assist with marketing and design needs, including Canva materials, outreach content, and social media coordination.
- Work collaboratively with SSS staff to support effective daily operations, student communication, program implementation, and grant compliance.
- Support SSS staff by tracking deadlines, follow‑up items, forms, meetings, and operational priorities.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Earned Associates degree in business, office administration, education, human services, or a related field.
- Clerical, administrative, or program support experience.
- Ability to demonstrate strong organizational, computational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with learners of varying backgrounds and cultural orientations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with higher education platforms such as Banner and Starfish.
- Direct experience in database management, grant‑funded programs, budgets, reporting, Canva, or social media is highly desirable.
- Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently.
Salary: $20/hour.
Job Type: This position is part‑time and temporary, and subject to the availability of funding from federal agencies. Successful candidate will work no more than 20 hours per week. The preferred schedule for this position would have the successful candidate working in‑person, four to five days per week.
