Medical Education Program Assistant 2
The Department of Radiology is looking to hire a motivated professional to serve as a Medical Education Program Assistant
2. This is a high energy position that requires customer service, fiscal responsibilities, assertiveness, patience, excellent oral and written communications, and superb organizational skills. The position requires someone able to be responsive to multiple internal and external stakeholders under tight deadlines and requires resourcefulness, follow‑through, and flexibility.
- Plan, prepare, and distribute practicum, training, tutorial, and/or clinical rotation schedules for program participants. Work with students, fellows, and faculty to coordinate adjustments, additions, deletions, and modifications to individual rotations and schedules.
- Act as administrative liaison for Continuing Medical Education (CME).
- Provide administrative support to department faculty and education team.
- Serve as central point of contact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate meetings and take meeting minutes.
- Assist with travel arrangements and reimbursements.
- Handle departmental procurement and process department money list.
- Work as an integral part of a solid administrative team.
- Monitor, reconcile, and assist with fiscal administration.
- Assist with department events such as recruitment, education, or research activities.
- Establish and maintain administrative records.
- Create, edit, and proofread correspondence.
- Assist in administrative problem‑solving.
- Orient new faculty, staff, residents, and rotators to the department.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED; at least four years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
Preferred Qualifications- Excellent interpersonal skills as demonstrated through the interview process.
- Ability to work effectively with a team of administrative staff and clinical faculty.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of clinical and managerial staff.
- Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Advanced coordination and organizational skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of basic accounting principles and UNM policies and procedures related to purchasing.
- Ability to be flexible while staying professional and positive in a changing environment.

Employee ConditionsHourly pay: $19.00 – $24.77.

Hybrid remote work schedule options are available at the discretion of the chair. Eligible employees working greater than .25 FTE as determined by the New Mexico Education Retirement Act must make mandatory retirement contributions.
