Would you thrive in a career supporting daily forest operations and helping to keep essential services running smoothly? As an Administrative Assistant 1 with the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR), you will support important financial and administrative work within the Pinchot Forest District. In this role you will help manage purchasing, budgeting, and office operations that keep district programs running efficiently.
Responsibilities- Procurement Support:
Prepare purchasing documents, review requests, and process transactions using state procurement systems. - Budget Management:
Maintain district budgets, monitor spending, and prepare financial summaries and reports. - Personnel Administration:
Process HR transactions, maintain employee records, and assist with workers’ compensation documentation. - Fire Program Assistance:
Process fire bills, travel reimbursements, and dispatch communications for wildfire and emergency responses. - Clerical Backup:
Provide support for payroll, timekeeping, receptionist duties, and general office coordination. - Permit Processing:
Issue wood permits, camping permits, and other district authorizations while maintaining accurate logs.
- Full‑time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.
- Overtime may be required occasionally for emergencies, trainings, and other operational needs.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home part‑time on an ad‑hoc basis. To telework, you must have a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. - Salary:

- Graduation from a four‑year college or university or equivalent combination of experience and training.
- You must meet the Pennsylvania residency requirement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
