University of Alaska Fairbanks is seeking an Administrative Specialist 3 to support the Vice Chancellor’s Office. The role serves as a key administrative and communications liaison among university leadership, faculty, staff, students and external stakeholders, coordinating executive operations, communications, meetings, special events, records management, and scheduling activities.
The successful candidate will possess exceptional organizational, communication and problem‑solving skills, a high level of discretion and professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Candidates must have advanced knowledge of the University of Alaska and University of Alaska Fairbanks organizational structure, comprehensive knowledge of executive‑office protocols and university administrative operations, and the ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and sound judgment.
Proficiency with electronic information systems, including Banner, spreadsheets, databases, word processing and email platforms, is essential.
Minimum Qualifications- Three years of college coursework and three years of increasingly responsible experience related to the duties, or a combination of training and experience.
This is a full–time, exempt staff position with a competitive salary and full employee benefits package, including retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience. The position is part of a bargaining unit represented by the Coalition of Alaska University Staff for Equity (CAUSE‐UAW).
