This position is located in Specialty Unit B, Richland County.
This is an in-office role and not a telecommute or remote position.
We are looking for an Administrative Specialist II who provides administrative assistance to eligibility staff to improve efficiency in case processing. The role requires assisting clients, screening applications, resolving problems, and providing internal customer services while maintaining professional relationships with staff, customers, and the public.
Responsibilities- Assist clients in person or via telephone; screen applicants, make appropriate referrals, answer questions, and resolve problems. Adhere to all agency policies and HIPAA Medicaid confidentiality rules.
- Provide administrative assistance to eligibility staff to improve efficiency in case processing. Review incoming applications for completeness, scan files into OnBase with correct indexing, and receive/fax documents to the appropriate workers.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and forms, prepare supply orders, prepare requested reports, and maintain the filing system. Open, date stamp, read, research, and distribute incoming mail to appropriate staff daily and prepare outgoing mail.
- Perform emergency preparedness duties or activities as required.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required; keep schedules and complete tasks in a timely manner; perform other duties as assigned.
A high school diploma is required. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.
- Occasional overnight travel.
- Sitting or standing for long periods of time.
- Lifting requirements: 20 lbs.
- In-office role.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations and policies relevant to the agency of employment.
- Must be able to perform routine administrative duties.
- Exercises discretion in applying policies and procedures.
- Adheres to all agency policies, HIPAA Medicaid confidentiality rules.
