MINISTRY POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Specialist will advance the efforts of the Institute for Christian Anthropology by assisting the Executive Director in working with evangelical theologians to contribute to projects on theological anthropology, especially related to embodiment, technology, and meaning. This role will include handling project logistics, assisting editorial processes, and interfacing with Colson Center staff and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will have an advanced degree in theology and current knowledge of theological anthropology.

The candidate will be proactive and anticipatory in approach, possess excellent judgment in a variety of situations, demonstrate superior written and verbal communication skills, have a high attention to detail, exemplify an energetic, poised, and positive demeanor, and demonstrate the ability to balance multiple priorities.

Key Ministry Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Director in identifying and recruiting evangelical theologians and other scholars to contribute to projects on theological anthropology.
  • Handle correspondence, paperwork, scheduling, and other logistics for scholars contributing to written or video projects or participating in speaking events or colloquia.
  • Manage multifaceted program logistics and calendars for scholar meetings and conferences, including arranging travel and catering and setting up and breaking down meeting rooms.
  • Assist the Executive Director with various editorial processes. Frequently compose, proofread, and finalize complex correspondence, documents, meeting minutes, reports, and board meeting materials, using experience and judgment.
  • Provide a bridge for smooth communication and project management between the Institute for Christian Anthropology and other Colson Center staff, demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility, trust, and support with other staff.
  • Interact with outside stakeholders such as publishers, conference personnel, and vendors.
  • Research topics related to theological anthropology as directed on occasion.
  • Other duties and special projects, as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in theology.
  • 5+ years of workplace experience with demonstrated track record of success
  • Strong knowledge of theology, especially current knowledge of the field of theological anthropology
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated effectiveness in writing for academic and popular audiences; strong editing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, scholars, consultants, and donors
  • Interest, comfort, and strength working in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to represent the ministry professionally; maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive matters with discretion and diplomacy
  • Self-starter; highly motivated and resourceful team-player able to manage multiple projects
  • Strong judgment: able to think and work independently, multi-task, prioritize, and follow through to effectively manage workflow; strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, accuracy, protocol, and a commitment to high-quality work
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office software.
  • Forward-looking thinker who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions

Position Classification:
Full-Time Exempt

Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000
