OverviewThe Colorado Department of Human Services’ Civil and Forensic Mental Health Services (CFMH) oversees the public behavioral health system, including the Colorado Mental Health Hospitals and the Forensic Services Division. The Operations Department provides operational oversight of the Forensic Services Division, managing contract administration, data reconciliation, quality assurance, program evaluation, records management, and training & development. This role supports the Operations Director and the team by processing court orders, maintaining court‑related records, and ensuring compliance with the 2019 Consent Decree.
Responsibilities- Process court orders for competency and civil evaluations, restoration services, and other services mandated by the Consent Decree.
- Track, receive, and maintain records of court orders, ensuring timely completion and accurate documentation.
- Monitor court dates and due dates to guarantee adherence to statutory mandates and time frames.
- Coordinate with court clerks, Bridges liaisons, and other judicial entities to uphold court orders.
- Manage competing priorities and deadlines, receiving work at unpredictable intervals.
- Develop and maintain systems and databases for managing court orders and related records.
- Collaborate with the team coordinator and Operations Coordinator to modify and improve office management procedures.
- Perform any additional duties or special assignments as directed by the Forensic Services Division.
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the duties described herein.
- Or a combination of related education and experience equal to three (3) years.
- Experience handling time‑sensitive, confidential information.
- Business management, records, criminal justice, human services, or a closely related degree.
- Prior employment in the State of Colorado or in a public sector/government setting.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a legal, court, or behavioral‑health environment.
- Knowledge of court proceedings and ability to read and interpret court‑ordered documents.
- Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to juggle competing demands.
- Shift work may be required.
- Travel within Colorado may be required for program needs.
- Background screening required; includes checks for direct contact with vulnerable persons.
- Vaccination requirements: 2‑Step TB screening, annual influenza vaccination, and other state‑mandated vaccines.
