Job Summary
PBS Utah, KUER 90.1 and Avanza 88.3 are seeking a 30‑hour per week Donor Services Assistant to join our team. This benefited position will serve as a primary point of contact for all station donors, viewers, and listeners. The position responsibilities include providing excellent customer service to audience members, processing donations, providing technical support for PBS Utah Passport streaming service and station apps, utilizing databases to update member accounts, and assisting with additional fundraising activities.
Options for occasional hybrid/remote work are possible with this position.
Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service to station’s audience and members via phone calls, email, direct mail and in‑person communications.
- Work closely with station staff to answer inquiries about programming and troubleshoot reception and/or technical issues.
- Use new software, Excel, Word and Google Docs.
- Process and update member donations and records for the PBS Utah Donor Services office.
- Collaborate with the Utah Public Media development team on additional donor‑services responsibilities.
- Assist at staff in‑person events for the station when requested.
- Be knowledgeable about all three stations’ programs and schedule.
- Be prompt and consistent with attendance, punctuality, and assignment completion.
- Follow all University of Utah charitable guidelines to ensure proper handling of donors, data integrity, and PCI compliance.
- Associate’s degree in a related field, or equivalency (one year of education may be substituted for two years of related work experience).
- Two years of related experience; ability to use logic and reasoning to prioritize tasks.
- Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet software, and/or database software.
- Demonstrated human‑relations and effective communication skills.
- Efficient typing skills and speed (≥45 WPM).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Physical requirement: lifting up to 30 lbs, carting up to 200 lbs.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Spanish or other second language preferred.
- Professional experience related to database management and customer service.
