THE POSITION
Become an Administrative Assistant 1 with the Department of Transportation and help keep important projects and operations moving forward. This role will give you the chance to support staff across the Multimodal Deputate and ensure daily processes run smoothly. DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
This role provides a wide-range of administrative support for the Multimodal Deputate and helps maintain smooth daily operations across multiple bureaus. As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Office Support:
Handle daily administrative tasks such as meetings, travel arrangements, correspondence, and communications - Communication Management:
Answer calls and emails while serving as a primary contact for Directors and outside agencies - Record Coordination:
Maintain and organize records, follow state guidelines, and prepare documentation for storage or destruction - Travel Processing:
Prepare travel forms, coordinate arrangements, and enter expenses into the SAP Concur system - Timekeeping Duties:
Enter leave, overtime, and timesheets into SAP with accurate coding - Interview and Onboarding:
Arrange interviews, prepare packets, and coordinate equipment and access for new employees

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- This position may be eligible for alternate work schedule (AWS)
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

- Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- You must possess a valid Class C driver's license.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
