Academic Administrative Coordinator
The Academic Administrative Coordinator will provide a variety of academic duties for various departments and programs within the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences. The specific units consist of Communication, Religious Studies, Film Studies, Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies (GSWS), Jewish Studies and Medieval Renaissance. This role oversees all aspects of the course scheduling process and works with the Chairs, Program Directors, Directors of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies, all faculty, the Department Coordinator(s), and other Department staff to development and coordinate the departmental course scheduling process, course management and maintenance, registration, final exam and grade logistics, room scheduling.
Maintain classroom schedule and oversee classroom equipment inventory. Serve as the primary liaison to the University Registrar to coordinate classrooms for all academic courses. Manage the faculty and graduate student Office of Measurement and Evaluation of Teaching (OMET) process. Provide information via phone, email and in-person to current and prospective students, parents, faculty and staff regarding academic advising policies and general University academic policies and procedures.
Coordinate Undergraduate graduation ceremonies. Provide comparable service and backup to other Dietrich School areas when needed.
Performs various administrative and student services duties in support of a school. Facilitates human resources recruiting support for faculty, staff, and students; student registration; coordination of teaching schedules; and other related faculty and student services. Essential Functions The successful candidate will use a computer extensively. They must be capable of oral, written, and electronic communications. Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
In addition to a computer, they must be able to use a telephone and other general office equipment including but not limited to fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, printers, etc. Physical Effort This position is generally sedentary within an office setting, but the ability to travel around campus is occasionally necessary. Also, must be able to pick-up and carry 25 pounds.
