Job Description
The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Division of Administrative Services (DAS), is recruiting for a Administrative Officer
2. This position is in the Supervisors Union (SU) bargaining unit at a range 19. This position is open to Alaska Residents only. Please check our Definition FAQ to determine if you qualify. This position requires full-time on-site work at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson to facilitate collaboration with various divisions supported by DAS' Administrative Section. Remote work may be permitted up to two days a week, subject to the hiring manager’s approval, and/or successful completion of probation.
You Will Be Doing
As DAS’s new Administrative Officer 2 (AO
2), you will be part of an outstanding management team. As the AO 2, you will play a vital role by being responsible for overseeing administrative operations, budget analysis, and financial management for the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs' Office of the Commissioner, Division of Administrative Services, and State Active‑Duty program. The position also serves as the State Program Manager for the Distributed Learning Program under the Cooperative Agreement and supervises an Administrative Assistant 2, an Administrative Assistant 3, and a Training Specialist 2.
