Are you searching for a meaningful career where you can support forest operations while keeping essential office tasks organized and running smoothly? As an Administrative Assistant 1 with the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR), you will have the exciting opportunity to assist with a wide range of daily operations throughout the Moshannon Forest District. This position allows you to tend to personnel tasks, purchasing needs, and budgeting activities.

You will help ensure that staff have the administrative support they need to manage forest projects.

This role supports forest district operations by assisting with personnel actions, purchasing processes, and budget maintenance. As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Personnel Support:Prepare intake questions, submit job postings, and maintain personnel records
  • Purchasing Duties:Process purchasing documents, coordinate bids, and assist with vendor communication
  • Invoice Processing:Audit invoices, code payments, and reconcile district credit card records
  • Budget Tracking:Maintain allotment ledgers, monitor expenditures, and prepare budget requests
  • Office Administration:Draft letters, manage depository accounts, and organize revenue transmittals
  • Operational Assistance:Support dispatch duties, timekeeping needs, and fuelwood permit tracking

Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime may be required during periods of emergency response to wildfires or other emergencies.
  • Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Penfield. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
