OverviewReporting to a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Financial Aid Coordinator is an integral member of a dynamic, service-oriented, and student-centered Undergraduate Financial Aid team. This position supports Yale's student recruitment and retention efforts by delivering exceptional service to students, families, and campus partners.
The Financial Aid Coordinator provides high-level administrative and operational support for Undergraduate Financial Aid, ensuring the efficient execution of departmental processes and initiatives. The role also serves as a key resource for responding to service-related inquiries and coordinating a wide range of administrative functions with professionalism, accuracy, and a strong commitment to customer service.
More specifically, the Financial Aid Coordinator supports customer service operations by collaborating with management and senior administrative assistants to resolve processing-related issues affecting student inquiries. The coordinator manages office communications, including missing information notifications, Yale Daily News advertisements, and other departmental communications, while monitoring and responding to messages received through the departmental electronic mailbox.
The Financial Aid Coordinator coordinates technology needs, including hardware requests, inventory management, and related administrative support. The position also manages administrative processes related to international tax scholarships and serves as the primary departmental contact for international tax matters, First-Year Scholars at Yale (FSY), and the Yale Club of New Haven. In addition, the coordinator oversees the work of student employees and assists with the onboarding of new staff members.
The Financial Aid Coordinator delivers exceptional customer service to students, families, and campus partners in person, by phone, and via email by providing comprehensive information related to Undergraduate Financial Aid, billing, student employment, and loans. The coordinator researches, evaluates, and resolves inquiries by exercising sound judgment, resourcefulness, and attention to detail while adhering to established policies, procedures, precedent, consistency, confidentiality, and a strong commitment to professional service.

Essential Duties- Supports customer service operations by collaborating with management and administrative staff to resolve processing-related issues and ensure the timely and accurate resolution of student inquiries.
- Coordinates and oversees a variety of administrative processes and operational functions for Undergraduate Financial Aid, including office communications, departmental initiatives, technology coordination, and student employee supervision.
- Serves as the primary contact for designated departmental programs and processes, including international tax scholarship processing, First-Year Scholars at Yale (FSY), and Yale Club of New Haven.
- Delivers exceptional customer service to students, families, and campus partners by providing comprehensive information regarding Undergraduate Financial Aid, billing, student employment, and loan programs through in-person, phone, and email communications.
- Researches, evaluates, and resolves complex inquiries by exercising sound judgment, resourcefulness, and discretion while ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and institutional guidelines.
- Coordinates departmental communications, including notifications, electronic mailbox management, suggests website updates, and other outreach efforts to support office operations and student engagement.
- Coordinates departmental technology needs, including hardware requests, inventory management, and related operational support, and assists with the onboarding of new staff members.
- Provides other administrative activities to support the efficient delivery of Undergraduate Financial Aid services as assigned.
