This position supports the Moshannon State Forest office by assisting visitors, handling communications, and providing clerical help in a busy setting. The role contributes to smooth daily operations and reliable service for both employees and the public. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Visitor Assistance: Greet visitors in a helpful manner and provide general information for public inquiries
- Office Coordination: Support staff by responding to information requests and maintaining organized filing systems
- Communication Handling: Answer phone calls, email, and mail while directing questions and messages to the appropriate person
- Record Management: Prepare required reports, maintain due dates, and ensure records follow Commonwealth standards
- Timekeeping Support: Review, calculate, and enter attendance information while assisting with overtime, leave, and schedule updates
- Wildfire Assistance: Help with wildfire reporting tasks, maintain resource information, and perform dispatcher duties during incidents
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00AM to 4:00PM, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
- Overtime may be required for wildfire response, search and rescue operations, or other emergencies.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Penfield, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
