THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
  • Amendment Expertise:
    Maintain knowledge of allowable birth amendments and manage exceptions based on laws and policies
  • Process Oversight:
    Supervise filing, scanning, review, and approvals within all phases of the birth amendment process
  • System Coordination:
    Use expertise in the electronic birth registry system to review requirements, test enhancements, and report issues
  • Quality Review:
    Conduct random checks, assess accuracy of work, and provide constructive feedback to staff
  • Fraud Identification:
    Analyze documents for potential fraud and determine when cases require referral to the fraud coordinator
  • Staff Supervision:
    Assign work, set priorities, train employees, evaluate performance, and monitor productivity
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework:
    You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. The typical schedule for this position will include 3 on-site days per week. You may also be required to work onsite as dictated by operational and training needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will be required to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview. This position requires a minimum of 2 weeks of mandatory on-site training.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Clerical Supervisor 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ; or
  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 3 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ; or
  • Two years as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
