Job Title
The Morris/Sussex Vicinage Probation Division, Child Support is searching for customer service-oriented individuals with strong technical competence, reasoning, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Job DescriptionUnder the general direction of the Assistant Division Manager, or other supervisory personnel, the successful candidate will utilize office skills to provide a variety of administrative clerical functions and clerical support to the division. Although the position is based out of the Morris County Courthouse (Morristown, NJ) travel to the Sussex County Judicial Center (Newton, NJ), and other Judiciary locations may be required.
REMOTE WORK:
The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.
Serve as the front desk clerk, greet customers, and notify assigned workers when someone needs to be seen including but not limited to, late night reporting rotation in both Morristown and Dover offices.
Mail processing - Sort and distribute incoming mail.
Assisting in locating and sending physical files between Morristown and Dover offices.
Route emails and faxes to assigned case workers.
Enter caseworker system notes in relevant EXCEL reports for supervisor review.
Conduct searches in Clear System.
Serve as court clerk for the probation child support enforcement hearings (ELRs) and (CEPs) and ensure Court Smart is running.
Conduct yearly destruction of closed case files that have completed the retention schedule.
Assist in completion of housing verification requests.
Obtaining Credit Reports on eligible Child Support Cases and providing them to the appropriate caseworker.
Perform any other assignments as directed by manager or supervisory staff for either Child Support or Adult/Juvenile Probation.
QualificationsExternal Applicants:
One year of experience performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and one or more of the following: document or information processing, handling payments for fees, recording monies received, reconciling balances or accounts and/or scheduling meetings or appointments.
Internal Applicants:
Open to employees of the New Jersey Judiciary who have successfully completed the working test period as of the closing date in the following career (classified) titles:
Advancement Judiciary Clerk 2 Judiciary Clerk 2 Bilingual Judiciary Account Clerk 1 Judiciary Account Clerk 1 Bilingual Eligibility for Advancement:
Eligibility is based upon the applicants having achieved all the competencies for advancement to Judiciary Clerk 3 as listed on the Career Progression Eligibility Form for this title. Applicants for advancement to the Judiciary Clerk 3 title are not required to take a New Jersey Civil Service Commission promotional examination. Experience Requirement:
One year of experience performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and one or more of the following: document or information processing, handling payments for fees, recording monies received, reconciling balances or accounts and/or scheduling meetings or appointments. Ability to use a keyboard, no minimum speed.
Physical Ability:
For some positions, applicants must have the ability to perform work which requires climbing and prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching to perform the essential duties of the position. For some positions, the selected candidate must be able to frequently lift and carry supplies weighing from 30 to 50 pounds and, occasionally, materials weighing up to 75 pounds, in order to perform essential duties of the position.
Driver's License:
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
