Program Support Staff (Part Time, Remote)

Position Overview

The Kavana Cooperative is a pluralistic, non-denominational Jewish community non-profit in Seattle. Kavana's office is located in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. For more information about us, please see our website:(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)..

The Program Coordinator serves as the onsite logistical support for many of Kavana's monthly and annual events (dates below). This role includes the following:

– Preparing Materials:
Packing supplies for events, transporting supplies to event locations, and back to headquarters after the event. – Set Up & Clean up:
While onsite during events, this role sets up materials and the space, and is responsible for cleaning up and re-setting spaces after the event. – Greeter:
This role serves as a greeter to community member participants. – On Site Support:
Available throughout events take photos, problem solve any logistical issues that arise and be eyes of safety.

This position works some events as the only logistical team member, and some events that have additional staff support. Events are typically evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

Before the event:

Print materials if necessary, and help to pack supplies for events (can include grocery shopping). Transport supplies to event locations (when applicable). Arrive early to events to set up materials and the space.

During the event:

Serve as greeter at events, welcoming participants warmly and checking them in. Act as eyes of safety during the event. Take photos. Larger events: clean up as needed.

After the event:

Clean up and reset event locations. Follow location closing instructions. Transport and unpack materials back to headquarters. Upload photos to Google Drive.

Core Competencies,

Skills & Qualifications

Access to a vehicle to get to and from events and transport supplies. A warm and friendly public facing demeanor. Organized and detail oriented, able to set up spaces thoughtfully and tidy them effectively. Ability to carry up to 50 pounds, including on stairs. Availability to work many of the below dates. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Responsive!

Working Schedule

Below is the list of all of the dates for coverage, varying from 11.5 – 18 hours monthly. It's ok if you don't have 100% availability, with advance notice (note, these dates could be split between multiple Program Support Staff if needed). Additional one-off events, or monthly events may be offered later.

Compensation & Benefits

This role is part-time, hourly.

Pay: $30 – $32 per hour Kavana will reimburse you for mileage monthly, at the Federal POV rate, for all Kavana errand driving you do in your own vehicle; alternatively, we could reimburse public transportation.
