Examplesof duties
This position supports the Waste Management Program by handling permit application processing, maintaining tracking information, and assisting staff with daily clerical needs. The role helps ensure accurate records, timely communication, and organized office operations. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Permit Review: Check permit applications for completeness and accuracy before coordinating distribution to staff and agencies
- Tracking Updates: Enter permit and client information into the e-FACTS system and ensure data is maintained in a timely manner
- Correspondence Logging: Record incoming and outgoing correspondence and forward updates to the proper individuals to maintain current application files
- Fee Management: Handle penalty and permit fees by maintaining databases and transmitting information to Administrative Services
- Office Support: Prepare outgoing mail, assist with scheduling, manage supplies, and operate office equipment
- Communication Assistance: Screen calls, provide general information, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff

Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00AM to 4:00PM, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);
or - Graduation from high school;
or - An equivalent combination of experience and training.
