Position Summary

The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is seeking an Administrative Assistant 3 to support the Enrollment Management and Student Success (EMSS)
Division. Reporting to the Director, this position provides advanced administrative & operational support for a multifaceted division responsible for enrollment and student success services. It serves as a centraladministrative liaison for the division & coordinates a variety of fiscal,personnel, project, reporting, scheduling, records-management, &event-related activities. Position assists with administrative problem solving,monitors and reconciles expenditures, coordinates division projects and operational commitments, prepares reports and correspondence, supports staff recruitment processes, and works collaboratively with students, faculty, staff,schools, community partners, and other University departments.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, confidentiality, attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to manage priorities in astudent-centered environment.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of The University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the regionand is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs,technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit courses to high schools in Valencia and Socorro Counties.

The faculty and staff serve a student bodyof over 2,000 students per semester.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher in Businessor related field
  • Spanish/English bilingual
  • Experience with Banner or asimilar software/platform
  • Experience with purchasing software such as Chrome River or similar platform
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Administrative/Customer service experience in an educational environment
  • Experience with electronic calendaring and scheduling
