Job DescriptionThe Office of Academic and Student Services provides a thorough and effective support system for all SOE students with a focus on the following areas: undergraduate and graduate admissions, academic advising, and career services. The Operations Manager reports to the Associate Director of Admissions and Recruitment and oversees administrative functions and operations in the office, focusing on admissions and recruitment. Specific responsibilities include managing, developing, and streamlining operational processes and procedures;
supporting graduate and undergraduate admissions and recruitment, including direct outreach and support to prospective undergraduate and graduate students and planning and coordinating programs and events and maintaining close working relationships with staff and faculty in SOE , and departments across the University. This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU , Local 200
United
- Must have a minimum of 3 years post degree work experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); experience with various videoconferencing tools; and the ability to quickly master new software systems. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and deal with multiple demands; strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; attention to detail is a must. Ability to handle sensitive information and exercise independent judgment is required. Appreciation and sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds is necessary.
Familiarity with academic institutions (higher education and K-12) helpful. Comfortable providing direct, front-line support to prospective students and families via phone, email, and in-person contact.
