Role Overview
$32.00/hour Shift Premium may Apply. Avis Budget Group is hiring immediately with no anticipated closing date. The role involves diagnosing and repairing a wide range of newer vehicles across multiple brands to ensure safety, reliability, and customer confidence.
Responsibilities- Perform standard and complex automotive repairs, including warranty work, on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
- Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, exhaust systems, brakes, electrical systems, air conditioning, and onboard computer systems.
- Work on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles, applying skills across multiple manufacturers.
- Serve as a technical resource for other technicians, providing guidance and best practices.
- Ensure vehicle reliability, safety, and availability to improve customer experience.
- Bi‑weekly hourly wage (New York and Puerto Rico: weekly wage)

Qualifications- Valid Driver’s License
- Minimum 3 years of professional auto repair experience
- Current ASE certifications (minimum of
3), with ability to acquire 2 additional within the first year - Strong knowledge of ASE areas:
Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, and Engine Performance (Light Vehicle/Diesel) - Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels
- Complete set of tools required for automotive repair and maintenance
- Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, reach, walk, sit, and kneel frequently; enter, exit, and drive vehicles
- Minimum age 18, legally authorized to work in the United States
- Regular on‑site presence required; remote work not possible
- Previous OEM experience preferred and considered an advantage
