Job OverviewThe New Business Development Manager – Forestry leads a globally focused team responsible for driving growth in commodity parts sales, extended warranties, and supplemental offerings for the Forest Machine Business Division (FMBD) equipment across international markets. This role is ideal for a seasoned senior manager with extensive experience in global commodity parts sales and a proven track record of developing and executing commercial strategies that respond to regional market dynamics and customer needs.
This leader will also need to understand global distribution and stocking approach that align with projected growth.
The position supports the creation and execution of new products and service offerings that enhance revenue and customer value. Additional responsibilities include active engagement in international dealer parts planning, trade show participation, and serving as the primary liaison between global stakeholders.
The New Business Development Manager – Forestry role is responsible for achieving and maintaining global sales volume and margin targets, that align, as a percentage of total new equipment sales, as well as overall fleet population. The New Business Development Manager – Forestry role is also responsible for developing, and supporting deployment, of additional revenue streams, that remain relevant to a very dynamic and regionally specific forestry market.
The New Business Development Manager – Forestry will work with senior leadership and executives to establish relevant sales metrics and goals that drive both DB (distributor) and customer value, to ensure increased support is realized through the entire value chain.
The New Business Development Manager – Forestry utilizes several operating systems to perform these tasks given the broad nature of the role and the information required to drive results.
Key Job Responsibilities- Drives aftermarket parts sales and relevant revenue streams that align with specific KPI’s
- Supports and leads the Aftermarket team with positive coaching, to ensure goals are achieved
- Creates short, mid, and long-term personnel structures that align with anticipated growth. Key focus should be on establishing a highly motivated team, where training, bench strength, and succession planning are tied to success.
- While driving supplemental commercial offerings, positions also suggests new revenue opportunities based on customer and DB’s feedback (to include industry trends as well).
- Becomes a trusted resource within global distribution network that resolves issues and concerns in a prompt and professional manner.
- Responsible for generating and supporting global Aftermarket strategies, through information gathering, planning and execution of business plans.
- High level of coordination across multiple business units, both internal and external stakeholders, to ensure prompt and accurate responses, as it relates to both Aftermarket sales functions and strategy.
- Utilizes internal sales platforms that support primary job functions.
- Generates and presents to domestic and international executives, both internally and externally, ongoing performance and strategic initiatives tied to relevant Aftermarket objectives.
- Defines distribution strategies that align with existing internal and external supply chain investments and leverages to ensure the FMBD sales growth success.
- Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business, or related field.
- Minimum requirement of seven (7) years working in, or closely associated with, Forestry and/or Global Logging Markets.
- Minimum requirement of ten (10) years of outside sales experience, business development, with significant focus on global commodity parts strategies and proven results
