Job Summary

As General Manager, AI, you will play a pivotal role in driving Toptal’s growth by serving as the end‑to‑end owner of a new, high‑impact business line. Leveraging your product and entrepreneurial experience, you will build the business from the ground up, starting with market positioning and strategy, establishing product‑market fit, and moving toward profitability and scalable business operations. This is a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Own the business P&L and work closely with Executive and Senior Leadership to align the business with Toptal’s broader growth goals.

• Analyze market and industry opportunities, identify high‑potential segments, and build and test new offerings with clients using an agile approach.

• Guide clients as a trusted business partner while collaborating cross‑functionally with Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Sales teams.

• Establish robust analytics and feedback loops to continuously iterate on strategy, ensuring constant refinement and improvement.

• Demonstrate exceptional communication skills and an entrepreneurial spirit to drive growth and lead by example.

Qualifications and

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.

• 10+ years of experience driving and managing a business with strong operational and managerial expertise.

• 3+ years of P&L ownership managing a business.

• Professional services experience, driving business growth.

• Entrepreneurial experience launching new businesses or product offerings from scratch.

• Experience in a technology or hyper‑growth company strongly preferred.

• Management consulting or investment banking experience at a top‑tier firm (optional).

• Leadership experience with responsibility for business results in a fast‑paced, multi‑function environment.

• Strong relationship development skills and ability to build credibility across all levels of an organization.

• Experience with marketing technology and automation, familiarity with CRMs and related tools.

• Excellent analytical skills, proven ability to deliver results in ambiguous and sophisticated projects.

• Strong commercial acumen and financial metric command.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Hyper‑organized, detail‑oriented, and able to mentor others in execution.
