The Traveling Recertification Specialist (TRS), under the direction of the Director, Internal Auditing, travels to assigned multifamily communities to requalify existing residents for continued occupancy and qualify applicants for initial occupancy. The role involves on-site and remote work, with decision-making authority on resident (re) certification matters, independent of other site staff, and escalation to the Vice President of Administration in case of disagreements.
The TRS may assist with internal audits, due diligence for new acquisitions, and review files for various purposes. The position requires organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks within specific time constraints. Daily interactions include interviews, paperwork processing, and communication with residents and team members.
ResponsibilitiesThis position is ideal for those who enjoy traveling and helping people access affordable housing.
Experience: At least three years in affordable multifamily housing management, with LIHTC, COS, USDA-RD, and other industry certifications. Experience with LIHTC, Section 8, USDA-RD is essential.
Education/Training: High School Diploma or equivalent required; two or more years of college preferred. Additional training/testing may be required post-hire.
Skills and Abilities: Valid driver’s license, ability to travel regularly (up to 95%), multitasking skills, experience with industry software (Real Page, YARDI, Res Man), organizational skills, professional appearance, and conflict resolution skills.
Working ConditionsPrimarily office-based, with site visits, inspections, and potential exposure to chemicals. Evening and weekend work and travel may be required.
Salary Range & BenefitsThe salary range is $60,000 - $65,000 annually, depending on location, skills, and experience.
