General Purpose

The Senior Analyst will drive and execute the end-to-end annual planning/budgeting cycle for Store Payroll, creating the annual Budget and 5-Year Plan, ensuring new initiatives, operations adjustments, and efficiency technologies are reflected.

Essential Functions
  • Create the Annual Budget and the 5-Year Plan for Store Payroll for all Ross locations.
  • Update all key Store Payroll planning processes and files using internal data sources and projections.
  • Build in the impact from labor-saving initiatives and reflect their impact on Store Payroll.
  • Own analysis and complete schedules to support the recurring review of quarterly results.
  • Own and update our wage rate model, which drives assumptions about average hourly wage rate by position, by month, by chain.
  • Execute efficiency improvements in how we budget, plan, and manage all Store Payroll expenses.
  • Implement changes and improvements to budget file architecture, data sources, and key systems.
  • Mitigate potential issues, challenges, or risks during the annual budgeting process.
  • Assist with additional Store Payroll analyses throughout the year.
  • Maintain and update documentation on Store Payroll planning and budgeting processes over time.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, operations, accounting, or an analytical field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years post-college experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Comfort with core financial planning and analysis processes: budgeting, forecasting, and variance explanations.
  • Analytical ability, data-driven problem solving.
  • Understanding of basic financial, statistical, and economic concepts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, including PowerPoint presentations.
  • Detail-oriented approach, drive to get things right.
  • Relationship building with peers and senior executive teams.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and proficiency with other financial systems (Hyperion, RDW/DART, Flash Sales).
  • Trustworthy with confidential information.
Physical Requirements / ADA

Work in an office environment, primarily on a computer. Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, working with paper/files, consistent attendance, vision requirements. Role can perform duties using a combination of in-office and remote work.

Base Salary Range

Base salary range: $77,900 – $117,050. The range is dependent on experience, skills, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority, and location. Other rewards vary by position and location.
