Job OverviewTD Thornton is seeking a Sr. Project Controls Analyst with scheduling expertise to join our team. You’ll control the scope, cost, and schedule for a portfolio of large-scale construction projects, often exceeding $25 million in value. This hybrid role combines the flexibility of remote work with on-site collaboration and meetings as needed across the Bay Area, including locations in San Francisco, Pittsburg, Oakland, San Jose, and Monterey.

- Develop and maintain project schedules, defining activities, work breakdown structures, predecessors/successors, resources, and baselines using Primavera P6
- Input financial forecast data and provide analysis using tools like SAP Support project managers in preparing business cases, contingency releases, and managing project budgets within established governance rules
- Monitor and update cash flow projections
- Analyze and report on variances in project costs and schedules
- Create and maintain reporting tools, including Excel-like spreadsheets, for clear communication with stakeholders
- Measure progress on activities and milestones in project schedules
- Assist with the execution and administration of contracts, including processing change orders and validating accruals
- Support meetings and calls with project team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment
- Help project managers hold team members accountable for action items
- Prepare and present timely updates to project managers and supervisors
- Keep all stakeholders informed of project developments through meeting minutes, action logs, and status reports
- Support the project team in identifying, resolving, and tracking risks
- Escalate risks and issues to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
- 3–4 years of scheduling experience, proficient in Primavera P6
- A Bachelor’s degree
- Construction experience, preferably on projects $25M
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to explain variances, monitor contractor schedules, and track project progress
- A self-starter attitude with excellent organizational skills
- Experience with SAP, Net Suite, or Sage
- Familiarity with Unifier or Project Wise software
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification
- Cost analysis skills and attention to detail
- A passion for training and mentoring others
Candidates preferably reside in Northern California to accommodate site visits and in-person meetings. Availability to work in a hybrid model with flexibility for more frequent on-site engagement.
