Company Overview: Oregon Grass Seed Bargaining Association (OGSBA) was formed to represent grass seed growers during annual negotiations with dealers to set the base price of perennial ryegrass and tall fescue.

Position Summary: We are looking for an action-oriented, relationship-builder who can grow and maintain membership for the OGSBA. This person is a strategic leader in the Association, working to understand the needs of the membership and partner with Dealers to find equitable solutions and pricing for both organizations. It is important to drive membership through effective communication and collaboration to keep Growers informed via all channels.

This role requires someone who is willing to travel to farms of all sizes throughout the Willamette Valley and connect with our Members on a regular basis. This is not a remote role as the person needs to live in the Willamette Valley area, but is work from home.

Responsibilities:

  • Need to be an effective communicator using all channels: face-to-face, social media, email and industry meetings
  • Advocate on Growers' behalf and understand their needs
  • Weekly reporting of activity to the Board, including membership numbers and financials
  • Meet with all Dealers and build rapport while communicating OGSBA's goals
  • Set-up Growers meetings and Town Halls
  • Participate with other agencies, councils, boards to understand needs and upcoming initiatives
  • Attend Industry meetings
  • Basic marketing (Facebook, social media and website updates)
  • Research what is happening in other production regions in North America & World
  • Know and understand the laws, rules and compliance issues related to the Association

Qualifications:

  • Ability to negotiate and persuade
  • Fundraising or Sales experience is helpful but not required
  • Knowledge of Grass Seed Industry is helpful but not required
  • Non-profit or Association experience is helpful but not required
