Foundation for Government Accountability
Virtual

January 23, 2026

Overview

The Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA) is hiring an Operations Specialist to support the systems, processes, and people behind our high-impact work. FGA is a growing organization with a strong track record of turning policy ideas into real-world wins that shape legislation and improve lives. As our impact expands, so does our team, creating an opportunity to help build the internal infrastructure that supports that growth.

This is a hands-on operations role with real ownership. The Operations Specialist will shape how new team members experience FGA from day one, ensuring onboarding and training processes are clear, organized, and consistently executed. You will be trusted with sensitive information, expected to operate independently, and empowered to improve systems over time.

The ideal candidate is exceptionally organized, proactive, tech‑savvy, and thrives in a fast-moving, remote environment. If you enjoy building structure, coordinating across teams, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks, you may be a great fit for this role. This position will report to the Internal Systems Director. This is a full-time, virtual role that can be based anywhere within the U.S.

Culture and Fit

The people who consistently succeed at FGA are those whose actions and behavior reflect our five Core Values. If you adhere to these values and answer “yes” to each of the following questions, you may be a fit.

1. Candid to Solve:
Being willing to have tough conversations in order to solve issues and build trust
  • Do you seek out constructive feedback—and provide it to others—to solve issues and build trust with coworkers?
2. Grow or Die:
We don’t have a neutral gear; we must consistently challenge ourselves and each other to grow in our talents and skills
  • Are you aware of your strengths and weaknesses, and do you seek out complementary skills and growth in order to mitigate your weaknesses?
3. Politically Savvy:
Policy doesn’t change in a vacuum, but in a political reality that we must understand and account for
  • Do you agree that embracing the realities of politics is necessary to change public policy?
4. Partnership‑Oriented:
Internal and external relationships are not transactional. That starts with our team members and the perspective that we need the rest of the team to succeed in order to win personally
  • Are you comfortable creating your own structure for work, such as setting work hours, your own priorities, and creating clarity and a work plan from a broad goal?
5. Bought in to Win:
We’re at FGA because we want to change policy. No one is counting hours or widgets. We are here to get results, and sometimes, that will require going the extra mile or doing a job that isn’t technically ours
  • Do you fully support FGA’s mission and believe that lives are improved through work, not welfare, and that free markets create more freedom and opportunity than government control?

The vast majority of those who don’t get hired (or don’t last) at FGA are due to a lack of fit with these values. Be prepared to have very candid conversations about them in our interview process.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Operations Specialist will have four primary areas of responsibility:

  • Build and execute structured 90‑day onboarding plans in coordination with hiring managers, including required check‑ins and trainings
  • Own onboarding checklists covering systems access, paperwork, equipment, orientation, and training on FGA’s core operational tools
2. Training Development and Coordination
  • Support and coordinate internal training sessions for new hires, teams, and managers
  • Help build and maintain a scalable internal training program and centralized training resource hub
  • Maintain the training calendar and track completion of required trainings
3. Hiring Coordination
  • Manage applicant workflows and support candidate screening and communication
  • Coordinate pre‑hire steps, including offer letters, background checks, tax forms, and equipment setup
4. Internal Systems and Event Support
  • Coordinate with FGA’s IT vendor to track and follow up on staff support tickets
  • Assist with…
