Maritime Compliance and Incident Response Specialist

Job Description

Position Summary:

Oil spill response and vessel compliance specialist. Work with team members and clients to support client vessels’ day-to-day operations in U.S. waters and worldwide trade, performing regulatory required filings and liaising with vessel captains and client points of contact as well as a myriad of federal, state and local officials to support vessel operations, incident response and compliance with the regulations.

Responsible for day-to-day administrative duties and supporting operations for regulatory compliance for commercial client vessel fleet(s) including processing electronic Notice of Arrival/Departure and Cargo Manifest filing (ACE/AMS). Respond to oil pollution and vessel casualties on behalf of client as required. Position includes participation in after‑hours duty rotation. This can be a remote position but candidates must reside in California.

• Previous Maritime Industry / USCG experience, minimum 5 years’ experience, is preferred;
  Marine Science Technician with response experience is highly preferred.
• Candidates with undergraduate or advanced degree will be attractive; and
• Training or certifications relevant to the maritime sector will be a bonus.
• Functional knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
• Functional knowledge of various regulatory regime frameworks and models, such as CWA, OPA’90, USCG, EPA VGP, OSHA, Ballast Compliance, ACE/AMS, eNOA, ECA, MARPOL, Annex I‑VI, AK, CA, WA State requirements, IMO.

The base compensation range for this position is $100,000 – $120,000. This range reflects Acrisure’s good‑faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
