Job Overview

The 13th Judicial District DUI/STEER (Sobriety, Treatment, Education, Excellence, and Rehabilitation) Court Coordinator serves felony DUI participants with structure and support for substance abuse and mental health issues, with goals of long‑term recovery and community involvement.

This position coordinates an alternative justice program for those charged with impaired driving offenses and works closely with highway safety partners.

The coordinator is responsible for the overall administration of the DUI Treatment Court named STEER. The duties include, but are not limited to, program development, preparation of program materials, and submission of monthly budget reports.

This position supports program participants at all stages, beginning with intake and orientation, through graduation. The position monitors court phase plans, maintains client files, and coordinates weekly treatment team meetings. The coordinator works to ensure STEER Court participant compliance by installing and removing alcohol monitoring equipment and updating the Court’s database in a timely manner.

Case management duties include serving as a point of contact for court referrals of adult offenders from attorneys, jail staff, Department of Corrections, and law enforcement; conducting screening and assessments for program eligibility; hosting court program orientation sessions; conducting client and family assessments; making referrals to any/all community resources; and providing ongoing review of client information from treatment team members to ensure goals are met.

The coordinator will work closely with treatment providers to ensure goals, monitor group sizes, proper data collection, and management.

This position reports directly to the Treatment Court Judge.

Job Duties
  • Coordinate meetings with treatment providers, social workers, and clients for creation and implementation of court treatment plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Keep records of treatment team meetings and court sessions.
  • Compile and submit client information from and to treatment team members.
  • Report all results to the court in a timely manner and enter information into the court’s database.
  • Inspect and maintain all monitoring and testing equipment, this includes cleaning equipment.
  • Maintain calibration, maintenance, and inventory records for all equipment.
  • Shipping and receiving functions for equipment and supplies per established procedures.
  • Submit invoices for payment of treatment team bills, submit reimbursement forms to Court Administration, and manage the Treatment Court Checking Account.
  • Maintain positive public relations and provide information for community awareness.
  • Coordinate stakeholder meetings and act as chief resource for that group.
