Overview

GKG is seeking a Business Development Analyst (mid-level) to join our team in Reston, VA in support of our Business Development Team. This is a Remote Position requiring travel up to 25% CONUS.

Responsibilities
  • Support the VP throughout the business development lifecycle, including:
    • Analysis and reporting on current leads, opportunities, and pursuits.
    • Managing and maintaining the BD pipeline and the Gate Review process.
    • Evaluating new opportunities; presenting findings clearly and making recommendations for action.
    • Assisting with core business development activities, such as generating pitch decks and communicating with clients and competitors to better understand business trends.
    • Seeking out new market insights and business opportunities through research and analysis.
    • Supporting the VP in assembling winning teams for various contracts, leading teaming conversations, and acting as the primary contact for development of NDAs and Teaming Agreements (including Exhibit As).
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Communication:
    • Attending staffing meetings, taking notes, and communicating action items.
    • Collaborating with the PMO on tasks related to contract execution and delivery.
    • Executing calls to potential clients and pursuing leads.
    • Developing and maintaining partner relationships throughout the cycle.
    • Communicating with the government during the BD process through email, market intelligence sites, and on the phone.
  • Bid and Proposals:
    • Serving as a proposal coordinator for all DoD/Intel proposals, including:
      • Development of compliance and capabilities matrices.
      • Storyboard development.
      • Technical, Management, Pricing, and Past Performance Volume writing.
      • Color team reviews.
      • Document management and version control.
      • Supporting proposal recruiting efforts and coordinating with GKG Recruiting to define and prioritize recruiting for all proposals.
  • Contract Delivery:
    • Supporting the VP during all phases of contract execution, including:
      • Collaborating with Recruiting and Retention teams.
      • Quality Control.
      • Invoice review and submission.
      • Acting as the GKG Corporate Account Executive in the VP’s absence for Army programs.
  • Capture:
    • Supporting the VP throughout all phases of business capture, including:
      • Conducting market research on all DoD/IC opportunities to shape contracts before public marketing.
      • Attending relevant trade shows, events, and functions to enhance GKG’s ability to capture new business and expand current business.
      • Maintaining active membership and attendance in relevant professional networks.
  • Reporting to the VP Defense & Intelligence.
Qualifications
  • Proficient in Shipley Business Development Processes and Techniques.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Up to 5 years of related experience in the Federal Government contracting field.
  • Working knowledge of the DoD, its organization, structure, functions, and military departments.
  • US Army experience preferred.
  • Active Top Secret preferred.
  • Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Superior written communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct independent research and provide meaningful analysis in a clear and concise manner across multiple presentation platforms.
  • 25% travel to client sites, conferences, and industry days for business capture.
  • Unpredictable work hours, including nights and weekends, depending on the project timeline.
