About the Role
The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is responsible for cultivating, managing, and expanding high‑value relationships with Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), union organizations, employer networks, and behavioral health professionals. This role focuses on enterprise‑level partnership growth, strategic account development, and measurable market impact across Acadia’s behavioral health portfolio.
The SAM serves as a strategic liaison between corporate partners and Acadia’s national network of programs. This position requires strong business acumen, structured account management, and proactive communication to ensure partnerships are aligned, scalable, performance‑oriented, and growth‑driven.
This exciting new role will be 60% new business development with large organizations with EAP or Union partnership.

What You’ll Do
Strategic Relationship Management
- Develop, strengthen, and sustain long‑term partnerships with EAPs, unions, and employer groups, ensuring consistent engagement, service alignment, retention, and account performance outcomes
Account Strategy & Growth Planning
- Build and execute structured account plans that drive sustainable referral growth, expand organizational reach, and strengthen competitive positioning within employer and behavioral health networks
Business Development Execution
- Implement disciplined outreach strategies that increase account penetration, enhance brand visibility, and contribute to overall regional performance goals
Corporate Partnership Collaboration
- Partner with Human Resources leaders, EAP administrators, and union representatives to optimize behavioral health access pathways and improve partnership effectiveness
Communication & Executive Engagement
- Maintain polished, solution‑oriented communication with corporate stakeholders and internal leadership teams, ensuring clarity, responsiveness, and strategic alignment
Account Performance & Reporting
- Operate within defined planning, reporting, and performance‑tracking frameworks to monitor account health, identify growth opportunities, and ensure accountability
Cross‑Functional Alignment
- Collaborate with corporate marketing, facility leadership, admissions, and regional business development teams to support coordinated growth strategies and measurable outcomes
Market Representation
- Represent Acadia Healthcare at conferences, professional associations, and industry events to expand awareness, generate new opportunities, and strengthen market presence
