What we’re looking for

We are seeking a Board Member to serve as the Director of Product, overseeing the product vision, strategy, user experience, and long‑term roadmap for CMI’s staple tool, our core national product connecting mothers and caregivers to trusted resources.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in product strategy, user‑centered design, research, and end‑to‑end product development, ideally within mission‑driven or early‑stage organizations. This individual will play a critical advisory role across the full product lifecycle, from ideation and discovery, through definition and prioritization, development and testing, and launch, iteration, and scaling, thus ensuring that decision‑making at every stage is informed by data, lived experience, and community needs.

This board role will work in close partnership with the Board Director of Technology to align product strategy, technical execution, organizational goals, and community impact. In addition, this role requires active advising and collaboration with internal leadership, including the Director of UX and Product Manager, supporting cross‑functional decision‑making and ensuring cohesion between strategy, design, and execution.

This position will serve in a remote capacity, utilizing tools such as Google Meet, Notion, and Slack to collaborate with other board members and organizational leaders. Applicants must be comfortable operating in a start‑up nonprofit environment and should be prepared to maintain a high level of communication and coordination. A two‑year commitment is required, with the possibility of renewal.
