The Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards (BAS) has 1 permanent vacancy for an Apprenticeship Training Representative. This position can be headquartered in any of the following counties:
Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, Chippewa, Clark, Douglas, Dunn, Eau Claire, Iron, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Rusk, Sawyer, St. Croix, or Washburn. It is anticipated that these positions will work a blend of remote and in-office work. High‑speed internet access will be required to meet the needs of remote work.

These positions also require a flexible schedule to allow for participation in the Apprenticeship Advisory Council and State and Local Trade Committee meetings, which often occur in the evening. Position Summary

This position is involved with a variety of activities designed to promote Registered Apprenticeship growth in the state of Wisconsin while sustaining existing relationships with local employers and partners, with a focus on new and emerging sectors in apprenticeship. This work involves the maintenance, management, and oversight of individual sponsor and local committee‑sponsored Registered Apprenticeship programs in a designated regional area.

This position is also responsible for the administration and enforcement of State and Federal Apprenticeship Laws and Rules at the field staff level.

Salary Information

Starting pay is between $26.02 and $29.51 per hour, depending on qualifications, plus an exemplary benefits package:

The classification title for this position is Apprenticeship Training Representative (schedule 12, range 64). A 12‑month probationary period will be required. This position is not represented in a collective bargaining unit and is considered exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Pay will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan in effect at the time of appointment. Starting pay may vary for current state employees.

Details

Travel: These positions require the ability to travel on a regional or statewide basis at a minimum of three days per week with the occasional need for an overnight. Travel will be mostly within the assigned region. This position will be responsible for counties in the brown region.

Remote work: Employees with approved remote and hybrid‑remote work arrangements are generally expected to work within the state of Wisconsin. High‑speed internet access is required to meet the needs of remote work. Remote work options are subject to change.
