Responsibilities
  • The role of the Commercial Account Specialist is to deepen relationships and drive commercial portfolio growth through dedicated member support and service excellence. The primary focus is to provide support, build relationships, onboarding of new members, and cross-sell commercial products and services.
  • Open business accounts and assist staff with gathering necessary documentation to complete new business account openings; maintain knowledge of products/services to open, close, maintain, and service all business account types. Adhere to company policies and procedures, and be informed about documentation for business types (e.g., LLC, Corporation, Partnerships, Association). Use strong communication and a sales-minded approach to maintain and support businesses and members, providing personal attention and ongoing communication to cultivate long-lasting relationships.
  • Manage accounts by organizing, maintaining, and updating business files and database content; collaborate with departments to resolve member issues; conduct frequent follow-ups to ensure satisfaction and gather feedback; stay current on industry issues and regulations; serve as a knowledge resource within the department to provide accurate internal support.
  • Generate leads and expand the client base by selling and cross-selling banking products and cash management services to new and existing members; oversee onboarding and training of new business and cash management members with the Cash Management Solutions Manager; log and track leads and follow-up activity across channels; generate referrals to related teams (commercial lending, mortgage, investment services, etc.).
  • Provide internal customer support by monitoring Teams channels and group inboxes and delivering clear, timely responses using product and service knowledge.
  • Perform administrative processing including spreadsheet management and reporting, NSF item reviews, form reviews, and participation in audits and reviews as required.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education:

    High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience:

    One to three years of similar or related experience.
  • Other

    Skills:

    General knowledge of Cash Management Products and Services; strong decision-making and problem-resolution skills; interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with members and employees; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and industry-related software; ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Ability to sit or stand at a computer for extended periods and lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Interpersonal

    Skills:

    Ability to interact with others inside and outside the organization for conflict resolution, relationship building, and cooperation, with a high degree of confidentiality and tact.
  • Work Environment:
    In-office with limited hybrid/remote work.
