Dealer Development Manager (Bilingual)
As a bilingual Dealer Development Manager, you will play a key role in expanding Home Hardware’s presence across Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec by driving Dealer conversions and uncovering new market opportunities.
Responsibilities- Build strong relationships with potential Dealers through cold outreach, networking, and industry connections to promote the Home Hardware program.
- Present Home Hardware’s systems, services, and support programs to interested prospects with clarity and enthusiasm.
- Guide interested prospective Dealers through the Home Hardware Application Process.
- Coordinate banner conversion changeovers to ensure a seamless transition, including onboarding/training for new Home Dealers.
- Collaborate with Retail Operations team to drive market growth through banner conversions and Greenfield (new market) opportunities.
- Partner with the Senior Dealer Development Manager to maintain a database of prospective applicants and prepare market intelligence reports that identify high‑potential locations.
- Participate in special projects and growth initiatives as requested.
- Complete weekly planning reports that include market updates and applicant discussions.
- Five years’ experience in retail business development, within the Home Improvement industry (Hardware & Lumber Building Materials).
- A deep understanding of competitive retail markets, paired with the strategic insight to identify opportunities and drive growth.
- Familiarity with Home Hardware systems, programs and services is an asset.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build and maintain long‑term relationships and industry connections that support sustained business growth and market insight.
- Strong retail acumen with a solid grasp of business operations, financial fundamentals, and accounting principles.
- Exceptional organizational skills and autonomy to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to special projects in a remote work environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Bilingual in English and French is required.
- The ability to accommodate a fully remote role with extensive travel across Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec, and we have a preference for someone based in Montreal, Ottawa or Gatineau.
- Salary range: CA $82,600 - CA $123,900 (final offer will reflect relevant skills and experience).
