• Research and source items for all special order requests in assigned product lines
• Conduct price negotiations with vendors and customers to determine final pricing
• Maintain vendor pricing catalogs and vendor contact information, providing training as needed
• Reconcile accounts payable discrepancies and process returns for customers
• Follow up on unaccepted customer quotes with the intention to convert to a sale

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a related area of responsibility
• Technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and determine the best approach to achieve desired outcomes
• Experience in conducting price negotiations and maintaining vendor relationships
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in processing and documentation

• Experience in supply chain management or procurement
• Familiarity with special order processes and reconciliation of discrepancies
• Proven ability to provide guidance and training to junior staff
• Strong analytical skills to assess vendor pricing and product needs
• Excellent communication skills for effective vendor and customer interactions
