The Customer Development Manager has ultimate responsibility for the customer interface at the field level, managing day to day relationships with various business owners to ensure effective two-way communication and profitable growth aligned with overall business strategy. This role utilizes a consultative sales approach to deliver best practice solutions and lead category level planning, serving as the resource expert for key customers (Amazon, Tire Agent, Tires Easy).
The incumbent is accountable for achieving account objectives across unit volume, sales revenue, and profitability through strategic programs, pricing, and market back portfolio development.
This position can be located anywhere in the U.S., with a preference for Akron, OH or Seattle, WA. If based in Akron, the role follows a hybrid work model; if located in Seattle or any other U.S. location, the position will operate remotely from a home office.
What You’ll Do
Develop and execute category business plans with the customer, including assortment strategy, new product launches, pricing, merchandising, and promotional planning to achieve scorecard targets.
Serve as the category expert for the customer, providing insights and guidance to drive performance.
Ensure customer adherence to corporate policies at the category level.
Lead, train, and develop Business Analysts to support category and customer objectives.
Oversee the execution of category initiatives to ensure alignment with strategic goals and operational standards.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, or a related field, or 9+ years of customer development/support experience in lieu of a degree; a master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
At least 4 years of experience in customer development or customer support, with exposure to multiple business channels considered a plus.
Experience in selling or demonstrated success building strong customer relationships is preferred.
