Lead Consumer Insights Consultant
We’re seeking a strategic, data‑driven leader who can turn complex consumer and market data into insights that shape the future of healthcare delivery. The Lead Consumer Insights Consultant within Consumer Insights and Analytics is responsible for delivering actionable insights that help the organization identify market trends across Sentara’s healthcare delivery system and health plan, including clinical service lines, population health, consumers, payers, and competitors.
This role supports sizing market opportunities, informing product development, and responding to evolving consumer demand.

- Facilitate requirements gathering, consumer insight discovery sessions, and secondary market research to define analytical needs and project scope.
- Develop a deep understanding of consumer behavior, market dynamics, service line performance, and competitive landscape.
- Partner with Leadership, Marketing, Digital, Enterprise Analytics, Data Science, Finance, Clinical, Product Development, and Enterprise Data Services to support inclusive planning processes.
- Utilize analytic platforms, visualization tools, and emerging AI technologies (e.g., machine learning, natural language processing, generative analytics) to identify unmet needs and growth opportunities.
- Create and distribute reports, dashboards, and insight summaries that influence strategic and operational decision‑making.
- Develop and operationalize use cases leveraging consumer segmentation models (Need, Value, and Attitudinal).
- Apply automation, advanced analytics, and AI‑driven methodologies to improve insight generation and decision support.
- Provide administrative and project support to the Director as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Marketing, or a related field (Required)
Certification/LicensureNo specific certification or licensure requirements.
Experience- Bachelor’s degree with 6–8 years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 4–6 years of related experience, preferably within large integrated healthcare or hospital systems.
- Experience leading requirements gathering, stakeholder discovery sessions, and translating business needs into analytical approaches and deliverables.
- Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Exposure to data and statistical platforms including Databricks, SQL, SAS, Python, or R.
- Experience working with large, complex healthcare datasets (e.g., EPIC, CMS, claims, payer data, US Census).
- Demonstrated ability to apply advanced analytics, segmentation techniques, predictive modeling, and AI‑enabled tools to generate consumer and market insights.
- Strong analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and storytelling skills.
The base pay range for full‑time employment is $–$. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
